About Kameshwar Singh Darbhanga Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya
Kameshwar Singh Darbhanga Sanskrit University (KSDSU) is a state Sanskrit university located at Darbhanga in Bihar, established in 1961 by the Kameshwar Singh Darbhanga Sanskrit University Act, 1961 of the Bihar Legislative Assembly. The university is named after Maharaja Kameshwar Singh of Darbhanga and is dedicated to teaching, research and documentation of Sanskrit and Indian Knowledge Systems.
KSDSU offers Shastri (UG), Acharya (PG), Vidya Varidhi (Ph.D), Diploma and Certificate programmes in Sanskrit, Vedanta, Mimamsa, Vyakaran, Sahitya, Jyotish, Nyaya, Ayurveda and Indian Philosophy. UG and PG admission is largely on the merit of the qualifying examination, with KSDSU PG Entrance and Acharya entrance for select courses; Ph.D admission uses the KSDSU Research Entrance.
The 2026-27 admission notification, programme list and counselling schedule are released on the official portal at ksdsu.edu.in. The university is UGC-recognised under Section 22.
