About Lalit Narayan Mithila University
Lalit Narayan Mithila University (LNMU) is a state university located at Darbhanga in north Bihar, established in 1972 by the Bihar Legislative Assembly. The university is named after the freedom fighter and statesman Lalit Narayan Mishra and is the principal affiliating university for the Mithilanchal region — covering Darbhanga, Madhubani, Samastipur, Begusarai and Saharsa districts.
LNMU offers UG, PG, M.Phil and Ph.D programmes across arts, sciences, commerce, management, law, education and Mithila / Maithili language and cultural studies. UG admission for 2026-27 is through CUET UG (NTA) and merit-based registration on the university portal; PG admission uses the LNMU PG Entrance or CUET PG.
CUET UG 2026 is being conducted from 11 to 31 May 2026. The 2026-27 admission notification, programme list and counselling schedule are released on the official portal at lnmu.ac.in.
