About Mahatma Gandhi Central University
Mahatma Gandhi Central University (MGCU) is a Central University located at Motihari in East Champaran district of Bihar, established by the Central Universities (Amendment) Act, 2014 of the Indian Parliament. The university honours Mahatma Gandhi's historic 1917 Champaran Satyagraha movement and is built on a 303-acre campus.
MGCU offers UG, PG, M.Phil, Ph.D and integrated programmes through schools of social sciences, languages, humanities, sciences, education, commerce, management and law. UG and PG admission is conducted through CUET UG and CUET PG (NTA) respectively, while Ph.D admission uses the MGCU Research Entrance Test or NET-JRF / GATE qualification.
CUET UG 2026 is being conducted from 11 to 31 May 2026. The MGCU 2026-27 admission notification, programme list and counselling schedule are released on the official portal at mgcub.ac.in.
