About Maulana Mazharul Haque Arabic and Persian University
Maulana Mazharul Haque Arabic and Persian University (MMHAPU) is a state university located at Patna in Bihar, established in 1998 (Act passed 1996, made operational 1998) by the Bihar Legislative Assembly. The university is named after Maulana Mazharul Haque — a freedom fighter, lawyer and educationist from Bihar — and is dedicated to higher education and research in Arabic and Persian languages alongside Islamic studies and allied disciplines.
MMHAPU offers UG, PG, Diploma, PG Diploma and Ph.D programmes in Arabic, Persian, Urdu, Islamic Studies, Education (B.Ed, M.Ed) and allied subjects. UG and PG admission is largely on the merit of the qualifying examination plus a programme-specific aptitude / interview where required (especially for B.Ed which follows NCTE norms).
