About Nava Nalanda Mahavihara
Nava Nalanda Mahavihara (NNM) is a deemed-to-be university located at Nalanda in Bihar, originally established in 1951 as a Pali Institute of post-graduate studies and research and conferred the deemed-to-be university status by the Government of India in 2006. NNM is administered under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India and is dedicated to teaching, research and documentation of Pali, Buddhist Studies and allied disciplines.
NNM offers PG (MA), M.Phil, Ph.D, Diploma and Certificate programmes in Pali, Buddhist Studies, Sanskrit, Tibetan, Chinese and allied disciplines. Admission to MA and Diploma programmes is largely on the merit of the qualifying examination; M.Phil and Ph.D admission uses the NNM Research Entrance Test plus interview.
