About Patliputra University
Patliputra University (PPUP) is a state university located at Patna in Bihar, established in 2018 by the Patliputra University Act, 2017 of the Bihar Legislative Assembly through the bifurcation of Magadh University. The university is named after the ancient capital of the Mauryan Empire — Patliputra (modern Patna) — and serves the colleges of Patna and the adjoining Patna metropolitan region.
PPUP offers UG, PG, M.Phil and Ph.D programmes across arts, sciences, commerce, management, law, education and computer applications through more than 25 affiliated and constituent colleges. UG admission for 2026-27 is through CUET UG (NTA) and merit-based registration; PG admission uses the PPUP PG Common Entrance Test or CUET PG.
CUET UG 2026 is being conducted from 11 to 31 May 2026. The 2026-27 admission notification and counselling schedule are released on the official portal at ppup.ac.in.
