About Mizoram University
Mizoram University (MZU), established on 2 July 2001 by the Mizoram University Act 2000 of Parliament (operational from 2001), is the principal Central University of Mizoram. Located at Tanhril, Aizawl (on a hilltop campus 17 km from Aizawl city), MZU was established by upgrading the Mizoram regional centre of the North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU). MZU is the only university in Mizoram and serves as the apex centre for higher education and research in the state.
MZU has 39 teaching departments organised into multiple schools — Humanities, Economics & Management, Sciences, Engineering & Technology, Education & Humanities, Earth Sciences & Natural Resources, Life Sciences, Social Sciences, and the Mizo Language Department. The university affiliates 36 colleges across Mizoram. NAAC A grade accredited. Famous for its scenic hilltop campus and as the educational anchor of Mizoram.
UG admissions through CUET UG for university teaching departments and merit on Plus Two for affiliated colleges. PG admissions through CUET PG or MZU PG entrance. PhD through CUET PhD or MZU PhD entrance.
