About Academy of Maritime Education and Training

Academy of Maritime Education and Training (AMET), established in 1993 as a maritime training institute and declared a Deemed-to-be University in 2007 under the UGC Act, is a private deemed maritime university located at 135, East Coast Road, Kanathur, Chennai. AMET is India's first private maritime deemed university and offers comprehensive marine education and training.

AMET has multiple schools — Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering, Nautical Science, Marine Mechatronics, Marine Business Management, Marine Biology, Maritime Law. Operates state-of-the-art simulators and training facilities. Recognised by DG Shipping (Directorate General of Shipping, India) and Indian Register of Shipping.
