About Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science

Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (HITS), established in 1985 as Hindustan Engineering College and declared a Deemed-to-be University in 2008 under the UGC Act, is a private deemed university located at Padur, Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR), Chennai. The institute is part of the Hindustan Group of Institutions founded by Dr. K.C.G. Verghese.

HITS has multiple departments — Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical, Civil, Biotechnology, Architecture. Strong programmes in Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering. NAAC accredited.
