About Mother Teresa Women’s University
Mother Teresa Women's University (MTWU), established in 1984 by an Act of the Tamil Nadu state legislature, is a state women's university located at Kodaikanal, Dindigul district. The university is named in honour of Mother Teresa — the Albanian-Indian Catholic nun, Nobel Peace Prize laureate (1979) and founder of the Missionaries of Charity. MTWU was established to promote women's higher education in Tamil Nadu.
Mother Teresa Women's University has multiple departments — Arts, Social Sciences, Sciences, Commerce, Education, Computer Applications, Management, Women's Studies, Home Science and Performing Arts. Offers UG, PG, MPhil and PhD programmes. Women candidates only. NAAC accredited.
UG admissions through Tamil Nadu state centralised system on Plus Two merit (women only). PG admissions through MTWU PG entrance or CUET PG. PhD through MTWU PhD entrance. Women candidates only.
