About Tamilnadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University
Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University (TNDALU), established in 1997 (operational 1998) by an Act of the Tamil Nadu state legislature, is the state law university of Tamil Nadu. Located at Perungudi, Chennai, the university is named after Dr. B.R. Ambedkar — chief architect of the Indian Constitution. TNDALU is the apex law university for Tamil Nadu and affiliates all government and private law colleges in the state.
TNDALU affiliates 9 government law colleges (Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore, Trichy, Tirunelveli, Vellore, Chengalpattu, Pulianthope, Salem) and several private law colleges. The Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College (Chennai) — affiliated to TNDALU — is one of India's oldest law colleges (founded 1891). NAAC accredited.
BA LLB / B.Com LLB / B.Sc LLB (Hons) and 3-year LLB admissions through TNDALU Common Entrance Test (administered by DoTE TN) or Plus Two merit. LL.M. through TNDALU PG entrance. PhD through TNDALU PhD entrance. CLAT scores accepted for select programmes.
