About Tamilnadu Physical Education and Sports University

Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University (TNPESU), established in 2004 (operational 2005) by an Act of the Tamil Nadu state legislature, is a state sports university dedicated to physical education, sports science and Olympic-track training. Located at Melakottaiyur, Chennai, TNPESU is one of India's premier state sports universities.

TNPESU offers BPEd, MPEd, MSc Sports Sciences, MSc Sports Psychology, MA Sports Management, PG Diploma in Yoga & Sports Coaching, and PhD programmes. The university operates state-of-the-art sports facilities and Sports Authority of India (SAI) tie-ups for elite athlete training.

Admissions through TNPESU Common Entrance Test + Physical Fitness Test (mandatory). Academic programmes accept Plus Two merit + TNPESU CET. Sports merit quota for state/national/international medalists.
